Dinnet Oakwood, Aberdeenshire
We first visited Dinnet Oakwood in Aberdeenshire - part of the Muir of Dinnet National Nature Reserve, managed by NatureScot - while looking for inspiration for a new woody perfume rooted in the North. The ancient oaks and silver birch there are extraordinary; the whole forest has a quiet, resinous scent of bark and moss. It felt like stepping back in time.

That atmosphere became the heart of Doric Oud. The fragrance opens with the dry, green texture of tweed and birchwood smoke, followed by soft aged leather and the depth of oud resin. It's earthy, smoky and enduring, capturing the hush and stillness of the Aberdeenshire woodland.
